The AT-6 Texan was a popular plane for most pilots during World War 2, since pilots trained in the Texan before moving on to other aircraft. The “T-6” was built at the original North American factory in Inglewood, California and at a new plant in Dallas, TX. The Dallas plant became the primary source of the model, hence the “Texan” name.

This aircraft also flies for the Commemorative Air Force, with the West Houston Squadron at the West Houston Airport. I also flew in one of these many years ago on the same day I flew in a Stearman. I recall the T-6 flight to be the most exciting flight I have ever taken. The large canopy provided a view that few people ever experience. For someone that always wanted to be a pilot, it was a flight to remember.
