Occasionally you run across things you would like to do, but for whatever reason, you never get the opportunity. Visiting relatives in Virginia as a child, our family would always cross over Skyline Drive and would talk about going on it one day, but never did.

Recently, I had a chance to take my own family on Skyline Drive through the Shenandoah National Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. It’s not a trip you want to take fast. You can’t drive above the 35 mph speed limit anyway, but that’s just fine. Take your time and enjoy the many overlooks and views. It’s enough to make you not want to go home.
