In the beautiful town of Honfleur, France you will find Saint-Catherine’s Church. This wooden church consists of two naves side-by-side. The first nave is the oldest part of the building, dating to the second half of the 15th century. The church bell-tower was built a good distance away, so that parishioners would not be burnt in case of a fire from lightning strikes. This is one of the very few old wooden churches in Europe, as most others have burnt down.

Though somewhat long, this shot is the end of the church, showing the two naves together. It did surprise me to see a few candles burning inside, and no, there is no new water sprinkler system above either.
