Morning Calm While in Pensacola last month, I found this boat one afternoon riding around with the family. I had been in this area the morning before, but hadn’t traveled down the beach. Seeing the trees, then the boat, I thought I would venture out again the next morning. It was still there and combined with the other boat and calm water made for a nice foreground to what might have been a somewhat plain sunrise.

TimStanley > Chrome Makes It Go Faster
There are some things that scientists just can't explain. Things that just "are". Anyone who has ever worked on a show car or street racer can tell you chrome makes things go faster. Though no one can really prove why, it just "is". Maybe it creates a micro-molecular vortex in the time-space continuum, but no one knows for sure. Whatever the reason, any car enthusiast worth their salt will defend this automotive phenomenon.

Tucked off to the side in the National Naval Aviation Museum is the Emil Buehler Library. This is the type of room that most men would like to park their desk in and make it their office. With beautiful paintings on the walls, models from the ceiling and other great aviation related items, it says come in and stay awhile.

The gelatinous umbrella-shaped bell makes jellyfish unique in appearance. It is said that they are the oldest multi-organ animal and they are found in every ocean and at all depths. I didn't have to travel far or deep to find these jellyfish at the Houston Zoo.

A fun thing about car shows is noticing the difference in design between older cars and newer models. Some automotive designs continue to grow more sleek and contemporary, while others tend to revert back to older styling. Since features come and go too, it’s always fun to see some sitting side by side.
This Dodge Dart and Dodge Daytona are great examples of then and now. Both have plenty of horsepower, but approach things from different designs and mechanics. These fine cars were at a recent Horses & Horsepower Car Show in Pearland, TX.

TimStanley > The Tower of the Five Orders
The Bodleian Library occupies a group of five buildings near Broad Street in Oxford, England, and a large number of off-site storage areas. One of the more unique buildings is the Radcliffe Camera. Next door to it is the Schools Quadrangle. Its tower forms the main entrance to the Bodelian Library and is known as the Tower of the Five Orders. The Tower is so named because it is ornamented, in ascending order, with the columns of each of the five orders of classical architecture: Tuscan, Doric, Ionic, Corinthian andComposite.
The Tower is just another great example of the wonderful architecture to be found in Oxford.
